Ever since the Carl Pei-backed startup Nothing unveiled the Nothing Phone 1 to the world, it's been making headlines for various reasons. Its Glyph lighting interface got a lot of attention, as did Nothing's idea of embracing a close-to-stock version of Android. Launched with Android 12-based "Nothing OS" out of the box, the phone picked up a stable Android 13 update in the form of Nothing OS 1.5 back in February this year. When it comes to software support, the company promised three years of Android upgrades and four years of security updates delivered every two months.

Android 14 beta builds are now available for these non-Google devices

Android 14 picked up the "beta" tag a while ago on Google Pixel devices, but that doesn't mean the non-Google phone you’re carrying in your pocket will get the same treatment anytime soon. This is because, unlike Apple, Google allows other OEMs to customize Android and ship their phones with various skins, which naturally takes time to develop and evaluate whenever a new version of the operating system is about to release.

There are a lot of great earbuds out there, but for the most part, they all start to kind of blend together because of their stale designs. Thankfully, the Nothing Ear 2 is one of the more unique options available, with a clean and sophisticated look that shows off its innards thanks to its transparent design. While the original earbuds came in white, it looks like there could be another model in the works that will come in black.

In recent years, true wireless audio technology has improved by leaps and bounds, allowing for high-fidelity sound and nearly latency-free audio playback from your source device. And with prices plateauing or even dropping, now may be a good time to jump on board the wireless earbud era if you're still tethered by wires. Google has numerous hidden features inside its Android OS. Besides the venerable Android version-specific Easter eggs, it is also possible to utilize custom dialer codes to access a plethora of apps and settings that are otherwise unreachable for regular users. Some of these codes are universal, which means you'll get the desired output on any device, whether it's a cheap budget phone or one of the best Android phones. Having said that, custom OEM skins (like One UI by Samsung and MIUI by Xiaomi) and carrier-customized models often come with their own set of hidden codes.
