You also get 16GB of RAM and up to a 1TB SSD for storage, though more configurations are likely to show up over time.

The 13.5-inch display on the HP Spectre x360 is also great, featuring a 3:2 aspect ratio and Full HD+ resolution in the base model. You have the option to get a 3K2K OLED panel, too, which is even sharper and produces extremely vibrant colors and pure blacks, making for a fantastic viewing experience on top of being a great canvas for work. Above the display is a 5MP webcam, which continues to be one of the best you can find on any laptop, and it also supports Windows Hello. It has some smart features, too, like auto framing and lighting correction.

HP hasn't really changed the design for this year, so we get the typical dual-tone look in both Nightfall Black and Nocturne Blue colorways.It looks great, while still being somewhat subdued. Being an all-aluminum laptop, the SPectre x360 13.5 weighs in at 3.01 pounds. A single-tone Natural Silver model should also be available at some point. Performance is the name of the game here, and with up to an Intel Core i9-13900HX with 24 cores and 32 threads, the Omen 17 is off to a very good start. What's more, that's paired with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU, giving you enough power to run just about any modern game with no issues. You also get up 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD.

The display is a 17.3-inch panel and it comes in the typical 16:9 aspect ratio, which is becoming less common. TYThe base model is Full HD and has a 144Hz refresh rate, but you can upgrade to a Quad HD panel and choose either 165Hz or 240Hz models depending on how smooth you want your games to be. Both options are very good, though. The same can't be said for the webcam, which is still a 720p camera with no Windows Hello support.

In terms of design, the Omen 17 looks fairly sleek and clean, and even though it does have RGB, it's done in a very subdued way so it's not obnoxious at all. It's still a heavy laptop, though, starting at 6.1 pounds, and that's to be expected with such powerful specs. You also get a healthy supply of ports. The HP Dragonfly Folio is the latest addition to HP's premium business laptop, and between the high-end performance and unique design, it definitely earns a recommendation, but you need to have the fund for it.

Performance-wise, the HP Dragonfly Folio is about the same as the clamshell version, the Elite Dragonfly G3. It comes with 12th-generation Intel Core processors up to a Core i7-1265U with vPro, featuring 10 cores and 12 threads for great performance overall. It can also be configured with up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD storage, so it's a great laptop all around.

The display and design are what makes this laptop really stand out, however. The 13.5-inch panel has a 3:2 aspect ratio and it's great for productivity. The base model is Full HD+, but you can upgrade to the 3K2K OLED panel if you want that stunning visual experience. The display is housed in a folio-style design, which means you can pull the screen closer to you and fold it down over the keyboard to use the laptop as a tablet. Above the display is an 8MP webcam, which is one of the best you can find on any laptop. It supports Windows Hello facial recognition, too.

This design makes for a slightly thick laptop, but it does look fantastic thanks to the faux leather cover that wraps around the chassis. It feels premium and classy, and it's to over;y heavy, coming in at 3.09 pounds. It does come with a small downside of only having two Thunderbolt 4 ports, plus a headphone jack. It's not the most varied selection of ports, especially for a business laptop, but if you're used to having a docking station, you'll probably be okay. Like most of HP's business laptops, the Dragonfly Folio can get a bit pricy, but you get one of the most versatile and unique laptops out there.

If you want an HP laptop with a larger screen, you can't get much better than the HP Spectre x360 16. It's a powerful laptop with a versatile and striking design.

Speaking of power, the HP Spectre x360 16 comes with new 13th-generation Intel Core processors, and you can choose between a Core i7-13700H and a Core i7-1360P. If you choose the former, you get a more powerful CPU, but no discrete graphics, while the latter option is paired with an Intel Arc A370M GPU if you need that kind of power. While the CPUs have been upgraded, the GPU is the same as last year's model. You can also configure the laptop with up to 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD.

The 16-inch panel comes in a 16:10 aspect ratio and it's great in every configuration. The base model comes in a super sharp 3092x1920 resolution, but you can go even sharper with the 4K Ultra HD+ OLED model, which also has more vibrant colors and true blacks, typical of OLED. Those are the same options available last year, and the 5MP webcam is the same too, but it's still great, offering Windows Hello support, too.

In terms of design, the HP Spectre x360 16 hasn't changed much, and it's available in Nightfall Black or Nocturne Blue colors, sporting a dual-tone look similar to the 13.5-inch model. Due to the larger size, it's obviously heavier, coming in at 4.74 pounds, which makes this a little less portable. For ports, you get two Thunderbolt 4 connections, USB Type-A, HDMI, and a headphone jack, so there's solid connectivity overall.

All in all, this is an absolutely stellar laptop, and while it is a bit pricy, you definitely get your money's worth with it. It's not just one of HP's best laptops, it's one of the best laptops in general.

Need something a little bigger? Look no further than the fantastic HP Envy 17, a laptop with a large 17-inch display and enough power for all your day-to-day tasks, wrapped in a premium aluminum build.

The HP Envy 17 is can be had with either an Intel Core i7-1260P or a Core i7-1255U processor. The former is faster but uses more power, while the latter is more power-efficient, but the U-series model can also be paired with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2050 Laptop GPU, which gives you some extra graphics performance if you want to get into video production, for example. These aren't the latest specs around, but you still get plenty of performance here. You can also get up to 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD.

The display is a 17.3-inch panel, and the base configuration comes in Full HD resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. You can upgrade by adding touch support or upgrade to a 4K display, which makes a lot of sense for this large display. Above the display, we're looking at a 5MP webcam with all the smart features we've mentioned before, plus Windows Hello support.

Being this is a laptop with a large screen and a solid aluminum build, it does add up to a fairly heavy machine, weighing around 5.49 pounds. However, you do get a great selection of ports, including two Thunderbolt 4 connections, three USB Type-A ports, HDMI, a headphone jack, and a microSD card reader. The large size also makes room for a number pad on the side. A potential downside of the Envy 17 is that it only comes in silver, so it's not a very unique-looking machine.

If you want a large screen and a premium experience, the HP Envy 17 is the best option in HP's lineup, and one of the best in general.

Content creators need a lot of power, but gaming laptops can be heavy and garish. If you want that balance of power and style, the HP Envy 16 is great for you.

For starters, the laptop is powered by up to an Intel Core i9-12900H processor, meaning you get up to 14 cores and 20 threads. Backing that up is an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU with 6GB of memory, and these two components make for fantastic performance for creative workloads. There are newer processors hitting the market now, but these are still very powerful. Additionally, you can configure the laptop with up to 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD for storage.

Display-wise, the base model comes with a Quad HD+ panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, but if you want something better for content creation, there's also a 4K OLED panel, with sharper resolution and more vibrant colors. There's also optional touch support. Above that display, there's a 5MP webcam with smart features and Windows Hello support, a standard for HP's premium laptops since 2022.

HP's design language doesn't change often, and this is another silver laptop made from aluminum, so it looks and feels premium, but it's arguably too subdued. Because of the premium build quality and powerful specs, it's a somewhat heavy machine, at 5.12 pounds of weight. On the other hand, the ports are very good. With two Thunderbolt 4 and two USB Type-A ports, HDMI, a headphone jack, and a microSD card reader, you have plenty of options for connecting peripherals to your laptop. You can bypass docking stations with all the built-in ports, but having Thunderbolt does give you expansion options if you need them.

For what it offers, the HP Envy 16 isn't overly expensive, and it's an easy recommendation.

If the laptops above are a little too expensive for you, the HP Pavilion Aero 13 is a fantastic option that's more affordable while still being very capable and surprisingly lightweight.

The latest model comes with powerful AMD Ryzen 7035 processors, up to a Ryzen 7 7735U with 8 cores and 16 threads. It offers really strong performance, and it's a major upgrade from previous models, especially in terms of integrated graphics, which are good enough for light gaming now. Combined with up to 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, it makes for a great experience.

HP hasn't made many changes to the display, so we're looking at a 13.3-inch display with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The base model comes in Full HD+ resolution, but you can upgrade to a Quad HD+ panel, which makes this an excellent choice at this price point. The downside here is the webcam, which is still a 720p sensor without facial recognition, a clear step down from HP's more premium laptops. There's a fingerprint reader for Windows Hello, at least.

Another great thing about this laptop is the design. For starters, it weighs just under 2.2 pounds, which is super light for such a cheap laptop, and that's on top of coming in four colors to choose from. It has a fairly basic design, but these color options make help it stand out. And for ports, you get one USB Type-C and two Type-A ports, HDMI, and a headphone jack, which is a solid setup.

HP has been increasing the price of the Pavilion Aero over the past couple of years, but this is still a great and relatively affordable laptop. There aren't a ton of premium Chromebooks on the market, but the HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook is the exception, and if you want the best ChromeOS laptop money can buy, this is it.

For starters, it's powered by 12th-generation Intel processors, up to a Core i7-1265U with vPro, featuring 10 cores and 12 threads for terrific performance. It can also be configured with up to 32GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, putting it in a completely different class from most other Chromebooks.

The display is great, too. This is a 13.5-inch panel with a 3:2 aspect ratio, great for productivity, and it comes in Full HD+ resolution by default, and you can add an HP Sure View Reflect privacy screen if you want to. There's also 2256x1504 panel option, which is a bit sharper, if you'd like an even better viewing experience. Since this is a convertible, it also supports touch and pen input, and the pen is even included in the box. Above the display is HP's signature 5MP webcam, this time without facial recognition since ChromeOS doesn't support it. You get a fingerprint reader, though.

Turning to the design, the HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook comes in a nearly-black shade of blue that's subtle but has enough uniqueness to it to stop it from being too boring. It's very portable, too, at 2.8 pounds of weight. As for ports, we're looking at two Thunderbolt 4 ports, USB Type-A, HDMI, a headphone jack, and a microSD card reader. There's also an optional nano-SIM slot, which is available if you choose to add LTE or 5G connectivity, useful if you want to get work done from anywhere you go.

The HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook is more expensive than most ChromeOS laptops, but if you want the best Chromebook money can buy, HP made it.

Most people probably won't want to spend over $1,000 on a Chromebook, and thankfully, HP makes the Chromebook x360 13.3 if you want something more affordable.

This is the only laptop on this list that's powered by Arm-based processors, specifically an octa-core MediaTek Kompanio 1200, which should deliver great performance and battery life thanks to the Arm architecture. That's paired with 4GB of RAM (which is alright for ChromeOS) and you can get up to a 256GB SSD for storage.

The display is a bit basic, being a 13.3-inch panel with a 16:9 aspect ratio and Full HD resolution, but it's not bad. Perhaps the most disappointing part is that it only reaches 250 nits of brightness, so it's not great for outdoor use, but indoors, it should do pretty well. It's a convertible, too, so at least you have the option to use touch and pen input right out of the box. Above the display is a 720p webcam, which is expected for a cheap laptop like this one. Sadly, neither facial recognition nor a fingerprint reader are available here, either.

Design isn't a major priority for cheap laptops, but the Chromebook x360 13.3 is at least fairly thin, measuring 17.76mm, and it weighs 2.95 pounds, so it's decently portable overall. It does look fairly simple, but at least it's not ugly by any means, it just won't stand out that much. For ports, you get two USB Type-C ports, USB Type-A, a headphone jack, and a microSD card reader, so there's a solid setup overall.

It may not be a mind-blowing laptop, but if you want something affordable, versatile, and with great battery life, this is still a great Chromebook.

But of course, there's something for everyone, and if your budget is a little tighter, it's always worth looking at the Pavilion Aero, which offers absolutely stellar value for its price. It is a bit more expensive than its predecessors, but this year's model is also significantly more powerful thanks to AMD's Ryzen 7035 series processor, while still having a great display and a very lightweight design. If you want to save even more and you don't need anything fancy, you can go with the HP Chromebook x360 13.3, too.
